Goodbye 2009, Hello 2010!

New year's is an interesting holiday to me, people tend to make a big deal out of it to the point that it rarely seems to live up to expectations...However, this was not the case for us this year!  We rang in 2010 at a house party in Keller with some of our best friends!  Richard's friend Tony from college threw a premium party in their new mansion on a hill, it was wonderful!  Good food, good drinks, and good friends, what better way to finish 2009 and hail 2010?  It was a black and white themed cocktail party so everyone looked fantastic (as you can see).

We ate, drank, danced and then counted down with all the standard accoutrements...hats, noisemakers, confetti poppers, sparklers, and champagne!  Then we kept on celebrating until 3:45am, when we decided to leave I headed for the coat closet to pick up my coat.  Unfortunately, it wasn't there, yup someone had so much to drink they took my PURPLE button up coat instead of their black zip up coat.  So, everyone thought I was just overlooking it, until 4 other people confirmed that there was no purple coat to be found.  So we left sans coat, and that's when things really got interesting... Richard decided in his drunken stupor that it was my fault that someone stole my coat and he proceeded to argue with Oscar, Nancy, and I for 15 minutes.  It was quite hilarious...he apoligized this morning :)

Then for New Year's Day we had a lovely breakfast and a PJ day with Oscar and Nancy until about 2:30 when we decided to head home.  Then we hit up happy hour at Zenna (one of my favorite sushi spots).  Then when we got home we decided to work on a project we had been discussing for years... We made a meal-ingredient database to make going to the store and making a shopping list super simple.  Pretty good way to start out the new year!
