Thursday's Customer Appreciation Day...

Today was Christmas in May....May 7, 2009

For Christmas Lisa got us season tickets to the Dallas Summer Musicals...I was going to buy tickets to Rent (esentially the same gift)...so we first went to the King Tut Exhibit at the DMA.

Lisa really enjoyed the soft ($$$) Camel in the Gift Shop

I really enjoyed the exhibit, I was amazed at the wooden sculptures that were thousands of years old and remained completely intact, the intricate details on every item from jewelery to furniture, and the translation of the heiroglyphs. However, my favorite relic in the exhibit was the boy king's golden daggar, it was one of the items burried with him.

We look good as femal Pharohs

King Tut was 9 years old when he took over the crown, can you imagine a 9 year old King? He held the throne 10 years before dieing suddenly of unknown causes, the mystery that keeps people interested year after year. They exumed the body a few years ago and found a Femur fracture, which truly amazes me...Death by femur fracture alone? Today femur fractures suck, but are easily treatable, but you can lose up to 1.5 Liters of blood from a femur fracture. If it was in fact the femur fracture that killed him, how did he get the femur fracture to begin with?

Then we got Free Beer!!! We stopped at a Deli in Uptown, where it was customer appreciation day, beer was our reward. I felt very appreciated!

Then, the crowning glory of the day, RENT. It was absolutely amazing. The two male leads, Adam Pascal (Roger) and Anthony Rapp (Mark), were the original broadway leads and played the roles in the movie as well. All of the male characters were very strong, but I was a little disappointed with the performance of Mimi. It was by far the best show I have ever seen. Thanks Lisa!!!
